Spanish government pushes back against stc’s 9.9% stake in Telefónica
stc Group had agreed to purchase the stake for US$2.25 billion, becoming the largest shareholder in the Telefonica Group. Yolanda Diaz, Spains labour minister and second deputy prime minister has spoken out against the sale. The deal is still subject to regulatory approval, with economy minister stating Spanish authorities were investigating the purchase. Read more…

Saudi’s Red Sea Global signs 25-year deal for renewable energy system for Amaala infrastructure
Red Sea Global has entered into a 25-year agreement with France’s EDF and Masdar, a clean energy company, to build a facility with an optimised off-grid renewable energy system that is all-solar-powered for Amaala. JLL – UAE leads the Middle East in data centre evolution
JLL revealed in a whitepaper at Cityscape Global that the UAE has firmly established itself as a leader of data centre evolution, with 28 active colocation facilites. Key players like Khazna and Equinix are accelerating this growth, with the former aiming to achieve a total planned capacity of 300 MW by adding 12 new facilities to its portfolio in two years.
