Qatar’s regulator sets 3G shutdown date

Qatar’s regulator, the CRA, has announced that it will shut down its 3G services by the end of 2025. The State becomes the latest GCC country to concentrate on the retirement of 3G to instead focus on expanding 4G and 5G services. With hopes to enable Qatar’s telecom sector to grow, while also supporting Qatar National Vision 2030 (aiming to ensure Qatar can achieve economic diversification and digital innovation by the end of the decade), the CRA, Ooredoo Qatar, and Vodafone Qatar will cease all 3G services by the deadline….Read more

CRA and ITU create Qatar’s Digital Innovation Profile

The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) has partnered with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to launch Qatar’s new Digital Innovation Profile (DIP), aiming to assess and navigate accurately the digital innovation ecosystem within the State. This launch will help mold key strategies and national policies to accelerate Qatar’s digital transformation. CITRA introduce new frequencies ahead of 5G-Advanced rollout

Kuwait’s Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) has introducednew frequencies to prepare for the rollout of the 5G-Advanced network, which provides the world’s most sophisticated communications services.
