Emirates Group relocates data centre to world\u2019s largest solar-powered hub<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Emirates Group has agreed to relocate its data centre to the world\u2019s largest solar-powered hub, the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The data centre will move to Moro Hub, a 100MW facility owned by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, with the relocation expected to take place in mid-2026. According to the company, Moro Hub will provide extensive co-location services, including rack space, power, cooling, equipment supply, and additional services to the Emirates Group. As a result of the move, the data centre will be powered entirely by the solar plant, which has a capacity of 3GW.\u2026Read more<\/a><\/p>\n

MGX buys a stake in Khazna Data Centers<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

UAE-based technology investment company MGX and US private equity firm Silver Lake have acquired a minority stake in Khazna Data Centers. Following the deal, e&, the UAE telecom operator, has exited its investment in Khazna but remains a key business partner. In February, e& announced the divestment of its 40% stake in the company for $2.2bn to Abu Dhabi-based technology group G42. The new investors will support Khazna\u2019s global expansion strategy and enhance its capabilities\u2026Read more<\/a><\/p>\n

DAMAC buys data centre operator Hyperco<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Edgnex Data Centers, the digital infrastructure arm of DAMAC Group, has acquired Hyperco, a Nordic data centre company. This acquisition is part of Edgnex\u2019s global expansion strategy, following its substantial investment in the United States, where the company has committed an initial $20bn to develop data centres with a planned 2GW capacity over the next four years. In Europe, Edgnex has extended its investment beyond the Nordic region, including a \u20ac150mn joint venture with PPC in Greece to develop up to 25MW of capacity, as one example. Similarly, in the Middle East, the company aims to deliver 55MW of capacity by the end of this year, with a projected global capacity exceeding 3GW\u2026Read more<\/a><\/p>\n

Elon Musk\u2019s Starlink starts operations in Oman<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Oman\u2019s telecom authority has granted permission for Elon Musk\u2019s Starlink satellite internet service to begin retail and commercial operations. The service will cover all regions of Oman, offering speeds of up to 100 Mbps.
