Humain breaks ground on two data centres, with first facilities expected to go live in Q2 2026<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Saudi Arabia\u2019s new government-backed AI company, Humain, has begun construction on its first data centres in Riyadh and Dammam, each launching with 100MW capacity in Q2 2026. Backed by the Public Investment Fund and aiming for 6.6GW of capacity over the next decade, Humain has already purchased 18,000 Nvidia GB300 chips, with plans for hundreds of thousands more, subject to US export approvals. The company is forging major partnerships, including a $5bn \u2018AI Zone\u2019 with AWS, a 500MW compute deal with AMD, and collaborations with Groq, Qualcomm, and Cisco. O<\/strong><\/em>man Data Park taps local developer for 1.4MW onsite solar project at data centre<\/strong><\/p>\n

Oman Data Park (ODP) has partnered with local solar developer Solar Wadi to launch Oman\u2019s first green energy data centre, starting with a 1.4MW on-site solar project at its KOM 4 facility in Rusayl. The initiative, which will expand with an additional 400kW in a second phase, aims to directly integrate renewable power into the data centre\u2019s operations, with panels installed on the building and car park. ODP\u2019s CEO, Maqbool AI Wahaibi, described the project as a milestone in combining energy resilience with sustainable digital infrastructure. The company also revealed plans to integrate solar into its upcoming 4.4MW data centre in Firq, furthering its commitment to environmentally responsible data management. Founded in 2012 as a joint venture between Omantel and 4Trust LLC, ODP currently operates three data centres in Muscat and is also pursuing other international growth with a $450Mn data centre project in Egypt\u2026Read more<\/a><\/p>\n

Meeza secures $219Mn funding to fuel 44MW expansion<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Qatari-based IT and data centre services provider Meeza has secured $219Mn in Sharia-compliant funding from Dukhan Bank to fuel one of the country\u2019s largest data centre expansions. The funding will support the addition of 44MW of new capacity, including 6MW designed specifically for advanced AI services, strengthening Meeza\u2019s role in Qatar\u2019s digital transformation. CEO Mohamed Ali Al-Ghaithani called the facility a strategic milestone, positioning Meeza at the forefront of regional innovation.
