A MoU has been signed between Johnson Controls and Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC), a council dedicated to advancing green building principles for environmental protection and sustainability in the UAE. Utilising its OpenBlue ecosystem of smart IOT and AI-driven solutions Johnson Controls will measure a range of indoor environmental parameters.The MoU outlines a joint commitment to the research and development of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) assessment. Israel: Abandoned copper mine proposed as potential data centre site

The Israeli government is inviting data center developers to place a facility in a former copper mine. The tender is for 520 acres of land at Timna Park, in the south of the country, with an estimated cost of around $15-39 million) – but low land price could be offset by high site clean-up costs. Al Khaleej subsea cable to be manufactured in the US; online by 2026

Connecting Bahrain to the 21,700km-long subsea telecoms data cable system SEA-ME-WE 6, the 1,400KM Al Khaleej Cable will be manufactured in the US by SubCom. The Al Khaleej Cable will be 100% owned and operated by Batelco, part of the Beyon Group. Read more…

103 MW wind farm project launched in UAE

The UAE Wind Program, a 103 MW landmark project developed by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) was launched on 5th October. The project is expected to power over 23,000 UAE homes and will displace 120,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide. Read more…
