Tawal and Nokia partner to demo multi-tenant Open RAN Edge cloud

Nokia and Saudi infrastructure provider Tawal have completed a groundbreaking live demo in Riyadh, showcasing a multi-tenant, shareable Open RAN Edge-cloud platform. The demo, claimed to be the first of its kind, demonstrated how mobile carriers and enterprises can deploy 5G services more affordably using Nokia’s anyRAN framework and Dell servers. Tawal’s neutral host model allows multiple operators to share the same Edge cloud infrastructure, reducing costs, energy use, and deployment delays. Khazna to build data centre near Ankara, Turkey

Khazna, a UAE-based wholesale data centre operator, plans to build a large-scale data centre of up to 100MW near Ankara, Turkey, in the Baskent Organized Industrial Zone. The facility, with its first phase optimised for cloud computing and future support for AI workloads, marks Khazna’s first expansion into Turkey. Backed by G42 and recent investments from MGX and Silver Lake, Khazna currently operates 30 data centres in the UAE and is also developing one in Egypt.
