5th November 2025 – As the GCC strengthens its position as a leading global hub for digital infrastructure, the Gulf Data Centre Association (GDCA) is excited to announce a new initiative: the GDCA Operators Committee. This initiative brings together leading data centre operators and developers from across the region to meet quarterly, share insights, and collaborate on the opportunities and evolving needs of the industry.
The GDCA Operators Committee provides a platform for operators to exchange knowledge, align on common objectives, and explore solutions to shared industry priorities – advancing the growth and competitiveness of the GCC data centre sector.
“The GCC data centre market is expanding rapidly, with operators navigating unique regional and operational dynamics,’’ said Henry Sutton, Founder of GDCA. “The Operators Committee gives us a platform to connect leaders, foster open dialogue, and identify opportunities to support the sector’s continued growth.’’
Through this committee, we aim to:
- Address common industry challenges – identifying strategic and operational issues that benefit from shared solutions.
- Promote best practices and operational excellence – supporting long-term growth and raising industry standards across the GCC.
- Support regional talent development and innovation – strengthening expertise to ensure the sector continues to evolve and remain globally competitive.
- Advocate for the sector – reinforcing the GCC’s position as a leading global hub for data centre and digital infrastructure.
“Collaboration is key to building an efficient, resilient, and globally competitive data centre ecosystem. With the Operators Committee, we are providing a platform to strengthen the GCC sector, elevate its profile, and promote operational excellence across the region,” he added.
The Operators Committee represents a significant step in the GDCA’s mission to strengthen GCC digital infrastructure, support industry growth, and drive innovation throughout the region. The first GDCA Operators Committee meeting will be held at Touchdown Middle East 2025 in Bahrain.
