28 September 2023, Manama – We are thrilled to announce today our achievements for our one-year anniversary!
Since our foundation in September 2022, we have welcomed over 1,000 members to the association and have hosted 13 individual events and counting across the GCC throughout the year. The support from attendees at these events has been incredible and have truly propelled the growth of the association. The GDCA would also not be where it is today without its sponsors, so a massive thank you to stc, Charles Russell Speechlys, Vertiv, Sudlows Consulting, Duke McCaffery, PTS, DPI, RED and Johnson Controls for their ongoing support.
The launch of Touchdown Middle East in partnership with Kickstart Europe marked a huge milestone for the GDCA this year. As the GCC’s first region-wide data centre industry conference, taking place 21st-22ndNovember 2023 in Bahrain, Touchdown Middle East reinforces the GDCA’s foundational pillar of bringing the GCC data centre market together.
“The GDCA represents the region’s data centre market at both a local and global level, and our aim is to build the GCC’s reputation as a leading emerging market in the data centre sector and as a front-runner in today’s digital ecosystem,” said Henry Sutton, Founder of the GDCA. “The first year of the GDCA has been exhilarating, and we look forward to gaining more momentum in year two and strengthening our mission of regional collaboration with the launch of Touchdown Middle East. Outside of our own events, we have taken part in numerous industry conferences to spread the word of the GCC’s market potential, including Data Centre World 2023 in London and Data Cloud Global Congress 2023 in Monaco. Our Publications Library also opened its doors this year, featuring six market intelligence reports, and shelves for expert case studies and best practice whitepapers from the region. Our new blog series has gone live too, sharing insightful thought-leadership pieces every month on the topics and trends most affecting the data centre industry in the GCC.

Here, we bring you a curated round-up of all the trending Middle Eastern data centre news from the week, including any news from our Sponsors, via email, LinkedIn and on our website.
The GDCA team has grown too, and in the past year we’ve welcomed Neethu Surendran onboard as Head of Events & Membership, Layla Ali as our Marketing Assistant, Rohit Ramachandran as Finance & Administration Manager, Eleri Boyesen as PR Manager and Imogen Weir as Event Coordinator.
We’re excited to keep the ball rolling as we aim to sustain our growth, welcome new members, host more events and bring more connection and collaboration to the region.
