Stc launches 2Africa Pearl subsea cable and data centre projects in the Kingdom
Telco giant, stc, has launched its 2Africa Pearl subsea cable system in Bahrain, one of the longest cable systems in the world, along with a Data Centre Park. The company has said the projects, part of a $300mn investment, will support its strategy of driving international expansion and growth through ICT investments. Dubbed SN1, and located in Salalah, this new data centre adds to Equinix’s facilities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and marks its second facility in Oman. UAE-based teclo e& and Ericsson have signed a MoU to explore 6G technology concepts, aiming to develop use cases and future network evolution.
