Aldar has announced the launch of a ‘Cooling as a Service’ (CaaS) project which will be managed by Johnson Controls, and will reduce the annual carbon footprint of the cooling baseline at Al Rayyana Complex and Eastern Mangroves in Abu Dhabi by up to 30% over a 10 year period. Read more…

UAE and Egypt announce 1,000 MW data centre MoU
The UAE’s Ministry of Investment and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt have entered into a MoU that focuses on developing Egypt’s digital infrastructure projects, with the planned data centres indicated to have the potential to reach a combined operational capacity of 1,000 MW. IDC: cloud spending predicted to contribute $1.2 billion to Bahrain GDP by 2026
According to a recent Economic Impact Study by IDC, cloud spending in Bahrain is projected to contribute over US$1.2 billion to the Kingdom’s GDP by the year 2026, equivalent to approximately 2.3% of GDP. This is expected to generate an economic return of US$6.7 for every dollar invested in cloud technology and projected to create over 9,300 jobs. Read more…

Oman inaugurates $476 million project ‘Rabt’

Ooredoo migrates cloud ERP landscape to Qatar Microsoft cloud data centre region
Ooredoo Group announced the successful migration of its cloud ERP landscape, RISE with SAP, from Amsterdam to Microsoft cloud data centre region in Qatar. Ooredoo is the first techco in the region to adopt RISE with SAP on Microsoft Azure, which also features AI capabilities. The establishment of this data centre within Qatar positions the country as an exporter of substantial data quantities. Read more…
Qatar’s QNL completes data repartition project
Qatar National Library has announced the successful completion of the library’s repatriation of Azure services to the Microsoft Cloud Data Center Region in Qatar from Microsoft’s West Europe Region. As a result of this project, latency has been hugely reduced, down from 120 milliseconds to five milliseconds. Read more…
