Ooredoo and Iraq\u2019s ITPC partner to land FIG subsea cable in Iraq<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Qatari telco Ooredoo Group has entered a deal with Iraqi Telecommunications and Post Company (ITPC) to land the Fibre in Gulf (FIG) subsea cable in Iraq. The FIG subsea cable (announced last month) will connect the GCC countries and Iraq, providing 720Tbps of capacity across 24 fibre pairs. The company is currently working on developments across the Middle East and hopes that by creating a secure and scalable digital infrastructure, it will not only advance the Kingdom’s digital economy but also attract global businesses. The agreement will create a unified, high-performance cloud computing environment capable of processing more than half a million daily digital interactions between Abu Dhabi government entities, residents, and businesses.
