XDS inaugurates 1MW immersion-cooled data centre<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

UAE-based XDS Data Centres has launched a 1MW immersion-cooled colocation facility at the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park to meet the growing demand for AI. The company plans to roll out additional 1MW data halls while building larger 10MW facilities, including one in partnership with ICS Arabia, scheduled for completion by Q2 2026. CEO Ghufran Hamid highlighted the strategic use of these smaller halls to validate infrastructure under live loads, ensuring scalability with consistent performance. CIOs in the region are investing in AI, intelligent automation, cybersecurity, and multi-cloud strategies. Data Centre systems are set to be the fastest-growing segment, with spending projected to rise 37.3%, driven by generative AI demand from governments, hyperscalers, and AI developers. With a 21% CAGR, AI accelerators like GPUs now account for a third of all data centre CAPEX, the largest growth driver.
