Microsoft set to invest in AI company G42
Microsoft is positioning itself at the centre of an AI boom following the launch of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, most recently announcing an investment of US$1.5Bn into AI company G42. In an effort to deepen relations between the US and UAE, this G42 investment will be leveraged as a launch pad to other regions, accelerating Microsoft’s global expansion strategy. As part of the deal, G42, who are central to Abu Dhabi’s AI ambitions and backed by Abu Dhabi sovereign investor Mubadala, will harness Microsoft’s cloud computing platform, Azure.
