Emirates Group relocates data centre to world’s largest solar-powered hub
The Emirates Group has agreed to relocate its data centre to the world’s largest solar-powered hub, the Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The data centre will move to Moro Hub, a 100MW facility owned by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, with the relocation expected to take place in mid-2026. According to the company, Moro Hub will provide extensive co-location services, including rack space, power, cooling, equipment supply, and additional services to the Emirates Group. MGX buys a stake in Khazna Data Centers
UAE-based technology investment company MGX and US private equity firm Silver Lake have acquired a minority stake in Khazna Data Centers. Following the deal, e&, the UAE telecom operator, has exited its investment in Khazna but remains a key business partner. DAMAC buys data centre operator Hyperco
Edgnex Data Centers, the digital infrastructure arm of DAMAC Group, has acquired Hyperco, a Nordic data centre company. This acquisition is part of Edgnex’s global expansion strategy, following its substantial investment in the United States, where the company has committed an initial $20bn to develop data centres with a planned 2GW capacity over the next four years. In Europe, Edgnex has extended its investment beyond the Nordic region, including a €150mn joint venture with PPC in Greece to develop up to 25MW of capacity, as one example.
