US considers easing of chip export restrictions on UAE

The U.S. is considering easing restrictions on exports of advanced semiconductors to the UAE, according to Bloomberg. A potential bilateral chip deal could be announced during former President Donald Trump’s visit to the region from May 13–16. Currently, the UAE faces export limits under new U.S. rules, which restrict access to high-end chips unless security guarantees are provided.
